The Queen Anne Stakes (G1) was first run in 1840 to commemorate the monarch who founded Ascot. A field of eight older horses competed over the 1 mile straightaway for a purse of £250,000 (about $497,000 US). 5-1 third choice Ramonti set the early pace but 14-1 Jeremy came on at the 1/4 pole and took the lead, however Ramonti fought back late to win by a short head in 1:37.21 over the good-to-firm turf. It was another short head back to 33-1 Turtle Bowl in third, and a head more to 10-11 favorite George Washington in fourth.

Winning jockey Frankie Dettori said, "I didn't really know him when I rode him in the Lockinge but I spoke to my friend Endo Botti who rode him last year and he told me to be brave because this horse stays well. It's very hard to make the running in a Group 1 race so it was a very creditable performance." Simon Crisford, racing manager of winning owner Godolphin added, "Against George Washington we felt he would have to step up to another level. We didn't anticipate winning this race, we thought he would do better overseas."

Aidan O'Brien, trainer of beaten favorite George Washington said, "He's come back a long way and we were delighted with that, over the moon. He was coming home really well and we've always thought he'd get further than a mile. All the options are open to him, especially when he looks like he'll get a mile and a quarter."
