The traditional
Alibi Breakfast was held on Thursday May 17, 2012, before the 137th running of the Preakness Stakes. Connections of most of the 11 Preakness entrants were on hand to
swap stories about their horses as well as watch the presentation of the annual awards. To the left are owner Paul Reddam, trainer Doug O'Neill, and jockey Mario Gutierrez of I'll Have Another.

Eight of the
Preakness horses, including Bodemeister, Went the Day Well, and I'll Have Another, plus Lava Man from either Thursday morning at Pimlico or arriving on Wednesday afternoon.
Check out photos and comments here. To the right are Zetterholm and Bodemeister heading out to the track this morning.

After several last minute defections, a field of 11 was entered on Wednesday for the
137th Preakness on May 19th, headed by Kentucky Derby runner-up Bodemeister (right) who drew post 7 and was set as the 8-5 morning line favorite, with Derby winner I'll Have Another second choice at 5-2 from post 9.

Preakness Weather Forecasts

Here my annual
analysis of the current contenders to try and pick a winner based on angles and statistical trends to match them with the profile of a Preakness winner. It is no surprise that Kentucky Derby winner
I'll Have Another came out on top, but how did the others fare?
