Winning jockey Richard Hills said, "He's been a favorite of mine for a long while and I have managed to get it right three times this year. He has pretty much taken on the best and he is always thereabouts and keeps coming up with it."
Winning trainer Sir Michael Stoute added, "I am very fond of this fellow. It's his fifth season in training and you could say marginally he is better than ever. We want to try to win a Group 1 with him. He nearly did it in the Juddmonte International last year but got short headed by Notnowcato. He is left in the Eclipse and the King George but we will give it a little while and see what (owner) Sheikh Hamdan wants to do."
Aidan O'Brien, trainer of beaten favorite and runner-up Scorpion said, "Scorpion ran a stormer. He has come home well and was just getting there. I don't know where he will go next. That was a sound run."
Scorpion's jockey Mick Kinane was slapped with a 4-day suspension for excessive use of the whip.
