2008 Kentucky Oaks Undercard Results

The first stakes race on Friday was the $100,000 Aegon Turf Sprint (G3), a 5 furlong sprint on the grass for older horses. Mr. Nightlinger bobbled at the start but recovered and was able to get to the lead. He set quick fractions over the firm turf of 22.63 and 44.72 while Indian Ashton stalked him in second. At the top of the lane Mr. Nightlinger pulled ahead to a short 1 length advantage, and he easily held off late running Salute the Count by a length at the line, completing the trip in 56.18. Atticus Kristy finished another length back in third.
