The first race on Dubai World Cup day is the $250,000 Dubai Kahayla Classic (G1), the world's richest race for Purebred Arabians. Madjani became the second three-time winner of the Kahayla, with a perfect stalking trip to win by 1 1/4 lengths over Charh in a time of 2:14.72 for the 2000 meter (about 1 1/4 mile) trip.

Winning jockey Richard Hills said, "We were worried coming into the race because he was injured when he stepped on a golf ball and I didn't think he would find more in the final stages of the race but he did, he is the best."

Winning trainer Gillian Duffield said, "I was worried when the others came at him, but he dug really deep. That's what he's all about and I love him!"
