The distaff feature on the Mile card was the $300,000 Canadian Stakes (G2) at 1 1/8 miles on the turf, with a compact field of just six older fillies and mares. Del Mar Oaks winner Arravale was making her homecoming start and was sent off as the heavy 9-10 favorite.

Ready's Gal took the lead right away and battled with the favorite the whole way around the course. In mid-stretch, Ramon Dominguez asked Ready's Gal for her best and got it as the 5-1 shot surged ahead to a 2 length lead. Arravale found another gear of her own and closed willingly in the final hundred yards but Ready's Gal held her off by just 1/2 a length at the line in 1:46.56. It was just 3/4 length back to 14-1 Elle Runaway in third. Just 2 1/2 lengths separated first from last at the end.

Winning jockey Ramon Dominguez said, "She relaxed nicely, and kicked on pretty good down the lane."
