2006 Stephen Foster Super Saturday Results

3-2 favorite High Cotton, ridden by Garrett Gomez and trained by the sizzling Todd Pletcher, rallied from just off the pace to score a 1 1/2 length victory in the $220,400 Northern Dancer Breeders' Cup (G3) for 3-year-olds. The son of Dixie Union, who won his third stakes race of the year and his first in three attempts at Churchill Downs, covered the 1 1/16-mile distance in 1:43.33 over a fast main track. Winning trainer Todd Pletcher said, "When he turned for home, I didn't know how much more he was going to find, but when Garrett got after him, he seemed to respond really gamely. Since (losing the Arkansas Derby) he's put together two really good races."
