The $1 million Arkansas Derby (G1) at Oaklawn Park in Hot Springs is one of the major preps for the Kentucky Derby, and with its large purse is a significant source of graded stakes earnings for those "on the bubble". A field of 9 Triple Crown hopefuls went to post on the last day of the meet, before 61,531 fans enjoying sunny skies and temperatures in the mid-70s. Entering the stretch, Line of David continued to lead, as Super Saver moved up to challenge at the 3/16 pole through 1 mile in 1:36.52. Dublin also put in a rally of his own on the outside, but Line of David dug in late to hold off Super Saver by a neck in a time of 1:49.37 for the 9 furlongs. It was just a neck back to Dublin third, completing the 3-horse blanket finish.
