Kicking off the stakes action on Risen Star day was the $60,000 Gentilly Stakes for Louisiana-bred 3-year-olds going about 1 mile on the turf. 5-1 Freddie One Bite led early on through a half in 49.54 and 3/4 in 1:15.08 before tiring. 3-1 favorite Look At The Time, 4th early, took over at the 3/16 pole and did not look back, drawing off to a 3 1/4 length win over 9-2 Benwill in 1:39.95. It was a head back to 16-1 Beckyboy third.

Winning jockey Corey Lanerie said, "My horse broke really sharp. Put me right where I wanted to be going around the first turn I was right behind Freddie One Bite. I thought he'd be my target so I tried to stalk him. The whole race I was travelling really nice. I was really happy with my position and when I called on him he just accelerated." Trainer Wes Hawley added, "The first time we ran him we were a little disappointed that we were taken down. This last time we won. Then, of course, we felt like we were undefeated so why not take a shot here?"
