Woodbine Mile weekend kicked off on Saturday with two Breeders' Cup Challenge "Win and You're In" races for 2-year-olds on the turf, each contested at 1 mile around 1 turn of the E.P. A field of 8 juveniles went to post in the $250,000 Summer Stakes (G2), with Best Play sent off as the 5-2 favorite off a second place finish in his debut last out. In to challenge him included 3-1 second choice Archer Hill, a debut winner on the Saratoga turf, and 4-1 third choice Indiano Jones, who broke his maiden at second asking.
Jockey Sarah Rook sent 10-1 I'm Boundtoscore to the lead soon after the start and set fractions of 23.85, 47.66, and 1:12.79 while pressed by 5-1 fourth choice The B's and E's and Indiano Jones. Entering the stretch, I'm Boundtoscore began to pull away, opening up by 2 1/2 lengths at the 1/8 pole. 7-1 Are You Kidding Me, 6th early, put in a strong late rally but I'm Boundtoscore held him off by 1/2 a length, completing the trip in 1:37.75. It was another 1 1/2 lengths back to Indiano Jones third, while favorite Best Play checked in fourth.
