Fourth place finisher and Azeri's first son Take Control in the paddock. He was originally named Vallenzeri and was bought back by the Allen Paulson Living Trust for $7.7 million in the 2008 Keeneland September yearling auction. He later sold for $1.9 million in the 2009 Keeneland sale of 2-year-olds in training by Kaleem Shah, CEO of Calnet. He won his debut race at Santa Anita on December 30, 2009, then was sidelined by sore shins and assorted other problems until June of 2012 when he won an allowance at Betfair Hollywood Park.

Jockey Rafael Bejarano said, "Just no pace; nothing. I couldn’t push my horse. That’s just not his style. If I push him, he has nothing at the end. So we did what we had to do. He’d like to run farther, too. He could run 1 1/2."
