The female counterpart to the Jackpot is the $500,000 Delta Downs Princess Stakes (G3) for 2-year-old fillies going 1 mile. Promise Me a Cat was the 4-5 favorite in the field of 9 over 6-1 Grandacious and 7-1 Perfectly Candid. Grandacious battled for the lead with 10-1 Fiscal Policy through fractions of 22.17 and 46.98, with Promise Me a Cat just behind them in third. Grandacious held the lead into the stretch, getting 3/4 in 1:12.34, but 9-1 Bouquet Booth, 7th early, and 10-1 Niji's Grand Girl, 6th early, rallied wide to pass the pacesetter late. Bouquet Booth prevailed by 1/2 a length over Niji's Grand Girl in 1:40.59. It was just a neck back to Grandacious third, while favorite Promise Me a Cat was 5 1/4 lengths back in fourth.
Winning trainer Steve Margolis said, "The filly's improving every race that she's run. We took a big shot coming here. (Delta director of racing) Chris Warren said, 'You guys really fit, and we'd like you to come.' We talked it over, and it was well worth taking a shot. We'll take her back to New Orleans. We've got a lot of good races as a 3-year-old, like the Fair Grounds Oaks."
