Admire Moon came through on the rail in the stretch, opened up a 2 length lead, and just held off the late close of Pop Rock to win the 2007 Japan Cup by a head. Favorite Meisho Samson was third as the Japan-based horses swept the top three places. Get the results, chart, and photos here.
The 2007 Japan Cup will be run for the 27th time on Sunday November 25th at Tokyo Racecourse. The $4.4 million race at 2400 meters on the turf (about 1 1/2 miles) always attracts a good group of foreign entries. Also on Saturday the 24th is the Japan Cup Dirt at 2100 meters (1 5/16 miles) will feature Pacific Classic winner Student Council.
