In the $700,000 Two-Year-Old Colt and Gelding Trot, Muscle Hill was sent off as the 9-10 favorite in the ten-horse field over 3-2 second choice Explosive Mater and 8-1 third choice Federal Flex.

Keystone Activator was first to the lead at the :28.2 quarter, followed by Triumphant Caviar. Just after the quarter, Federal Flex was up to take the lead, followed quickly by Muscle Hill, who took over the lead by the :57.1 half. He held that lead to the three-quarters, with Explosive Matter nearly even with him on the turn. Those two stepped to the stretch together in 1:25.1 but in the stretch, Muscle Hill pulled away from the field. Driver Brian Sears turned around to look for challengers in mid-stretch but found none, as Muscle Hill romped to a 1:53.3 world record clocking.

Winning driver Brian Sears said, "I knew he was a nice colt and I knew I never emptied the tank all year, always had something left in the tank. Tonight we're going to empty the tank. He's all business, he knows what it's all about. I knew we'd have to step on the gas."

Trainer Greg Peck added, "He was good right from the start. Tom Pontone and I stood together at the Harrisburg sale and bid on him and then Jerry Silva came in and he was good from day one, exceptional from day one."
