Breeders' Cup World Championships

All about the Breeders' Cup World Championships, the biggest event of the year in Thoroughbred horse racing. Held at a different track each year in late October or early November, this is where all the best horses in the world come and annual championships are decided. In 2008 the Breeders' Cup was held at Santa Anita Park in Arcadia, CA. It will be back at Santa Anita in 2009 and will move to Churchill Downs in Louisville, KY, in 2010.

In 2008, the Breeders' Cup World Championships will be held on October 24 and 25 at Santa Anita Park in Arcadia California. This will be the fourth time Santa Anita has hosted the event. Last time in 2003, California-based horses dominated the dirt races while Europeans dominated the turf.

Curlin wins the 2007 Breeders' Cup Classic

In 2007 the Breeders' Cup World Championships was held on October 26 and 27 at Monmouth Park in Oceanport, NJ, in a sea of mud. Curlin, pictured here, was the winner of the Classic - Powered by Dodge, staking his claim for year end honors.
