The $2 million Bessemer Trust Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies (G1) features 2-year-old fillies going 1 1/16 miles on the main track. Locally based Stardom Bound, winner of both the Del Mar Debutante and the Oak Leaf, was the 8-5 favorite in the field of 13 over 4-1 Sky Diva, winner of the Frizette, and 6-1 C.S. Silk, winner of the Arlington-Washington Lassie.

C.S. Silk went to the front immediately but was pressed by 20-1 Be Smart for the first 6 furlongs, through fractions of 22.77, 45.92, and 1:09.85. Stardom Bound was unhurried early, settling at the back of the field for the backstretch trip. Around the far turn, jockey Mike Smith moved Stardom Bound wide for the drive and she easily surged to the front at the 3/16 pole. Dream Empress put in a strong late move from 11th but was no match for Stardom Bound, who cruised under the line 1 1/2 lengths clear in 1:40.99. It was another 1 1/2 lengths back to Sky Diva third.
