2011 Breeders' Cup World Championships Friday

A field of 11 older fillies and mares went 1 3/8 miles on the turf in the $2 million Emirates Airline Breeders' Cup Filly and Mare Turf (G1). Flower Bowl Invitational (G1) winner Stacelita was the 9-5 favorite over undefeated 3-1 Nahrain, winner of the Prix de l'Opera (G1) last out, and 5-1 Misty for Me, third in the Matron Stakes (G1) in Ireland.

9-1 Dubawi Heights led the field through fractions of 25.44, 51.07, and 1:16.90 over "good" turf while stalked by 56-1 Dynaslew. On the far turn the last time, Dynaslew briefly led through 1 mile in 1:41.72 before tiring to finish last. Nahrain moved to to lead late but Perfect Shirl came through to win by 3/4 length in 2:18.62. It was a nose back to Misty for Me third.
