Final entries were taken and post positions drawn on Monday, October 29, for the 15 Breeders' Cup Championship races on November 2 and 3. There were a total of 203 pre-entries, with 180 individual horses where some have pre-entered in two races. There are eight previous Breeders' Cup winners who are returning this year: Royal Delta, My Miss Aurelia, Awesome Feather, Amazombie, Musical Romance, St Nicholas Abbey, California Flag, and Eldaafer.
