The Kentucky Derby is now history and Smarty Jones earned his place in the history books as only the fifth horse to remain undefeated through the Kentucky Derby. As expected he will be heading to Pimlico for the Preakness on May 15th next, along with several other from the Kentucky Derby. Here is the latest list of probably starts for the Preakness, but expect it to change over the next week, so keep checking back to see what's going on. Entries will be taken and post positions selected on May 12th.

Several of the Kentucky Derby starters are expected including the top two, Smarty Jones and Lion Heart. Third place finisher Imperialism will skip the Preakness and train up to the Belmont. The Preakness field is limited to only 14 starters, but it hasn't had that many since 1992 so hopefully nobody will be excluded like in the Derby.
