The Belmont Stakes is coming soon on June 6th, but the rematch hoped for between Rachel Alexandra and Mine That Bird won't happen. It was announced today that she will skip the race to rest up, so jockey Calvin Borel will be able to ride Mine That Bird again. A field of 10-12 is expected with Mine That Bird now likely to be a heavy favorite. Check out who is planning to come with profiles and photos.

So the owners do not want her to run because of too many races in a short period of time. Oh sweet! Typical bitch, stick it to Mine that Bird who should of won the Trip this year if it wasn’t for that philly & the strategy of Smith.

I guess when you are the contender, people try to knock you down.

Hopefully, they meet again.

Rachel Alexendra’s connections probably want to win Horse of the Year and a certain undefeated filly stands in the way. Why risk Rachel Alexandra’s reputation in a 12 furlong race, a distance she doesn’t look suited for, that could ruin her before the dream match in the Breeder’s Cup?

Mine that bird’s sire beat Stormy Jones to deny him the triple crown. The”bird”will have no problems with the 1and a half mile trip and is much the best horse in this feild.

Chris Curley says Mine that bird’s sir beat Stormy Jones to steal the Triple Crown from him… Maybe you should pay attention Chris…the horse’s name is Smarty Jones and he lost because he clearly wans’t in the mood to run that day. Smarty is a great little horse and deserves the recognition of you at least getting his name correct.
