2010 Triple Crown Nominations

There were 366 3-year-old thoroughbreds nominated for the 2010 Triple Crown by the January 16 early deadline, down from 401 last year. Early nominations are $600 while late nominations, which close on March 27, are $6000. Check out the list of all 366 with their breeding and other information.

Oaklawn offers bonus to Rachel Alexandra and Zenyatta

In hopes of attracting both 2009 Horse of the Year finalists, Rachel Alexandra and Zenyatta (right), Oaklawn Park announced on Thursday afternoon that the Apple Blossom Handicap (G1), run on April 3, will have its purse increased ten times from $500,000 to $5 million if both start. The race, historically carded at 1 1/16 miles, will be extended to 1 1/8 miles for this year's renewal.

2010 Sunshine Millions

Saturday January 30, 2010
The six Sunshine Millions races for the Florida and California-breds were held on Saturday at Gulfstream Park in Florida and Santa Anita in California. Bold Chieftain (right) won the Classic at Santa Anita and Jet Propulsion won the Turf at Gulfstream Park. Get the results, charts, and photos for all six races here.
