The £250,000 Ladbrokes World Hurdle (G1) featured 17 horses aged 4 and up traveling 3 miles over 12 hurdles. 11-8 favorite Inglis Drever did not disappoint. Held up in the early stages, he moved up on the leaders with 4 hurdles remaining. At the top of the long stretch, jockey Denis O'Regan angled him outside for room and he took full advantage, taking the lead from 9-1 Kasbah Blitz and then holding that one off by a length at the line, completing the trip in 5:52.90 as the only 3-time winner of the event. It was 7 lengths back to 12-1 Kazal in third.

Winning owner Graham Wylie said, "He's a street fighter who never knows when he is beaten and he loves the attention he gets in the winner's enclosure. Maybe one day I'll realize what he's done, but it is all so emotional now. I just sat quietly in the stand and watched and watched, and he had so many traffic problems. But when he came over the last, he was too good for them."

Jockey Denis O'Regan added, "What a horse. He just took off. Howard (Johnson, trainer) said beforehand that he wouldn't want to get there before the last. I was a bit down at the last but he jumped well, and he did the rest himself."
