A field of 12 horses aged 5 and up contested the £130,000 RSA Chase (G1), at 3 1/16 miles over 19 fences. 8-1 Aiteen Thirtythree and 150-1 longest shot Elysian Rock battled on the front end for the first 14 jumps, with 16-1 Bostons Angel stalking them in third. The pacesetters tired with 4 jumps to go, allowing Bostons Angel to inherit the lead. 10-1 Jessies Dream closed from well back to bain a short lead at the final jump but Bostons Angel fought him off to win by a neck in 6:16.60. It was another 3/4 length back to 15-2 Wayward Prince third, while 7-4 favorite Time For Rupert checked in fifth.
Winning trainer Jessica Harrington said, "He is so tough - it's unbelievable. All he wants is three miles and the tougher it is, the better he likes it. I actually thought the Midlands National [was the race for him] until he won the Moriarty if you really want to know. I always had this sneaky feeling as he stays very well, jumps well, you can kick him into every fence - but he does not like having his head in front very long. He just does enough."
