Unraced as a 2-year-old, he made his debut in January at Gulfstream Park, breaking his maiden in his first start. Was a dismal 7th in the Fountain of Youth then shipped up to Keeneland to finish 3rd in the Blue Grass beaten only 1 1/2 lengths. Ran an even race in the Preakness to finish 6th after stumbling at the break.
