Last year he was 3rd in the Futurity at Belmont, 4th in the Nashua Stakes then 2nd in an allowance at Aqueduct. Won the Lecomte Stakes at the Fair Grounds for this 3-year-old debut and followed that up with a win in the Risen Star on Feb. 7. Chased the pace in the Louisiana Derby then took command around the final turn and drew off to win by 7 1/4 lengths. Trained up to the Derby. In the Kentucky Derby, he was bumped at the start and grabbed a quarter but was in contention early, then faded to finish 18th. Stalked in 3rd for the first 3/4 of the Preakness then faded to finish 10th.
