This was the fifth win in eight career starts for Bushfire. Winning trainer Eddie Kennally said, "She's a gutsy filly. It was great to come back and rebound and win a Grade 1. I didn't expect her to be on the lead. I thought Adieu would be on the lead and we would be stalking. She broke sharp. Alex (Solis) let her go on and it worked out really well. Normally, in horse racing, when you get headed at the eighth-pole, you're going to get beat. She is just so game."
