Cacique, who was the 2-1 post time favorite, paid $6.40 for the victory and improved his overall record to 6-3-1 in 14 career starts. The win was his first since capturing a Group 3 stakes race at Longchamp in France.

Jockey Edgar Prado said, "I thik Bobby did a great job in getting this horse to go a mile and quarter. He was a little late switching leads. I had to bounce him around a little, but once he did, he had another gear. He didn't see that horse way outside."
