Just 8 older fillies and mares contested the $100,000 Gallorette Handicap (G3) at 1 1/16 miles on the turf. 6-5 favorite Precious Kitten stalked the pace three-wide in third early, just off the pace set by 20-1 shot Humoristic through a half in 47.49 and 3/4 in 1:11.16, then took over the lead at the 3/16 pole and easily held off 15-1 A True Pussycat by 3/4 lengths at the line. The running time was a new course record of 1:40.32 over the firm going. 14-1 Trick's Pic was third.

Jockey Rafael Bejarano said, "I had the best horse in the race. She had a very nice trip to the quarter pole. Once I let her go, she gave me everything."

Owner Ken Ramsey added, "I thought Bejarano rode her perfectly. He said before the race we had the best horse, and he put him in the race. Jose Cuevas saddled her, but Chad Brown actually trained her for (trainer Bobby Frankel) down in Churchill. My wife (Sarah) had a stroke in February and it's been tough on the whole family. The win, today, probably brought her some joy at home."
