First time by with Hard Spun leading over Cowtown Cat, Teuflesberg, and Stormello. Only Hard Spun was around at the end with the other three finishing last, 17th, and 19th.

Kent Desormeaux aboard Stormello who stalked the pace five wide but flattened out in the stretch to finish 19th said, "We got bumped around at the three-eighths pole, but by that time he had thrown in the towel."

Fernando Jara aboard Cowtown Cat who eventually finished last said, "No excuse. He just didn't fire today."

Stewart Elliott aboard Teuflesberg, who stalked the pace up to the far turn before fading to 17th said, "At the three-eighths pole, I was second, and I thought I had more horse than I had. But that was it."
