The $500,000 Kentucky Oaks (G1) features the best 3-year-old fillies in the country, going 1 1/8 miles over the Churchill Downs main track before the second-largest Oaks crowd in history, 108,065. The longest shot on the board, 47-1 Lemons Forever, raced at the back of the pack most of the way, well of the hot pace of Miss Norman then circled the field around the far turn and powered through to win going away by a length and a half over 10-1 shot Ermine. Lemons Forever completed the 9-furlong feature in 1:50.07. 8-5 favorite Balance failed to fire, finishing eleventh. Third place finisher Bushfire interfered with eventual sixth place finisher Red Cherries Spin and was disqualified by the stewards.
