Just six older fillies and mares went to post in the $300,000 Louisville Stakes (G2) at 1 1/16 miles on the main track after the undefeated Zenyatta scratched. One Caroline set a pace of 23.96, 47.65, and 1:11.72 while as many as 5 lengths in front of Swift Temper and Miss Isella. Turning for home, Miss Isella broke away from the rest of the pack and moved alongside the pacesetter setting up a stretch duel. The pair battled to the line, but 9-1 Miss Isella dismissed the 1-2 favorite One Caroline in the final strides to win by 3/4 length in 1:42.75 over the muddy track. Swift Temper was 8 1/4 lengths behind in third.
