Hansen arrived this morning from Churchill's Trackside Training Center. He drew post position 14 for the Derby. During the draw, there were only 2 post positions left, 1 or 14, when Hansen was finally drawn. His trainer Mike Maker said, "There's nothing you can do about it, so I don't worry about it." On drawing the 14 he said, "Perfect. We've got the little space between the gates. It couldn't have gone any better."
