2008 Belmont Stakes Results
Longest shot on the board Da' Tara led the whole way in the 2008 Belmont Stakes, drawing off to win by 5 1/4 lengths over Denis of Cork with Anak Nakal and Ready's Echo in a dead heat for third. 2009 Kentucky Derby Results
Mine That Bird trailed the first 3/4 of the race then rallied to take the lead in the stretch and draw off to win the 2009 Kentucky Derby by 6 3/4 lengths over Pioneerof the Nile and Musket Man. He paid $103.20 to win, the second highest payoff in Derby history. Favorite Friesan Fire grabbed a quarter at the start and finished 18th. Get the results, chart, and photos here.

Big Brown has now won the Kentucky Derby and Preakness, so he will be trying to become the next Triple Crown winner when he runs in the Belmont Stakes on June 7, 2008. Friday at Pimlico, Sweet Vendetta rallied from last to win the Black-Eyed Susan and Student Council just got up by a neck to win the Pimlico Special.
