A field of 9 was entered for the 131st Preakness on Wednesday with post positions drawn that evening at the ESPNzone in Baltimore. Kentucky Derby winner Barbaro is the even money favorite and will break from the 6 hole. Brother Derek is second choice at 3-1 and Sweetnorthernsaint is next at 4-1.
Barbaro's trainer Michael Matz said, "I wanted post position 5, but after discussing it with the team I found out they load the 1 and 5 first so that's why I went with the 6."
