We are down to the final race of the Triple Crown now, the Belmont Stakes in New York on June 7, where Big Brown will try to win the third and final leg of the Triple Crown. If he does, he will become the first Triple Crown winner since Affirmed in 1978. As he did in the Preakness, Big Brown has scared off much of the competition so a short field is expected. Topping the list of colts trying to take him down are the Japanese-owned Peter Pan Stakes winner Casino Drive and the Kentucky Derby third place finisher Denis of Cork. Here is the current list of horses planning to start in the Belmont as of Tuesday June 3. Entries will be drawn on Wednesday June 4, so check back that afternoon for the final list and post positions.
