ADMISSIONS: General Admission, $2; Clubhouse Admission, $5. Children 12 and under are admitted free with an adult. Gates open at 8:30 a.m.
RESERVED SEATS: There are no more reserved seats available for Belmont Stakes Day.
ATTIRE: Box Seats - Suits or Sport coats required. Absolutely no shorts or jeans; Garden Terrace Restaurant - Absolutely no shorts or jeans. Gentlemen: Suits or Sports coats required. Ladies: Dresses, skirts, or slack outfits; Clubhouse - Proper attire required at Management's discretion. No abbreviated wear. Gentlemen: No tank tops.; Grandstand - Shirts and shoes required.
VIEWING AREAS: Grandstand, Backyard and Trackside (Apron Area). There are plenty of free seats (benches, chairs, picnic tables) available in these areas (non-reserved, first come-first served). No infield access.
CAMERAS: Personal Cameras are allowed. NO FLASH and NO PICTURES OF MUTUELS.
COOLER POLICY: Fans may bring in coolers to the Backyard of the Grandstand at Belmont Park. Coolers will not be allowed in any other area at the track. Also glass containers will not be allowed into the track. As in the past, fans can bring in coolers containing cans or plastic bottles. All coolers will be subject to search by NYRA security. No coolers of any kind will be permitted in the buildings, including all seating areas, or on the apron of the track. Fans with coolers should enter the track at either the paddock (Hempstead Turnpike) or west end (Cross Island Parkway) admission gates. Coolers will not be allowed through the clubhouse gate. Also, no open flames (grills, barbeques, etc.), canopies or tents.
THE UNDERCARD: In addition to the Belmont Stakes, the day's card features five other top stakes races. They are: Race 6 (3:12 p.m.): The Grade 2, $150,000 Vagrancy Handicap for fillies and mares, 3 and up at six and a half furlongs. Race 7 (3:52 p.m.): The Grade 2, $200,000-added True North Breeders' Cup Handicap for three-year-olds and up at six furlongs. Race 8 (4:32 p.m.): The Grade 2, $250,000 Just A Game Breeders' Cup Handicap for fillies and mares, 3 and up, at one mile on the turf. Race 9 (5:12 p.m.): The Grade 2, $200,000 Riva Ridge Breeders' Cup for three-year-olds at seven furlongs. Race 10 (5:52 p.m.): The Grade 1, $400,000 Manhattan Handicap for three-year-olds and up at 10 furlongs on the turf.
WAGERING MENU: In addition to straight bets (win place and show), exactas and trifectas, there will be rolling Pick 3's starting on race 2, Six Daily Doubles (races 1-2, 6-7, 8-9, 10-11, 11-12, 12-13), Two Superfectas (races 11 and 13), $1 million guaranteed Pick 6 (races 6 - 11), $1 million guaranteed Pick 4 (races 8-11), regular Pick 4 (races 10-13), and Quinellas offered on races 2 and 4.
ATTENDANCE RECORD: The largest single-day attendance at Belmont Park was 103,222 on June 9, 2002. That day, Sarava returned the highest $2 win payoff in Belmont Stakes history ($142.50), with a half-length victory over Medaglia d'Oro. Kentucky Derby and Preakness winner War Emblem ran eighth in his failed bid for the Visa Triple Crown.
HANDLE RECORD: The largest total commingled handle for a Belmont Stakes Day is $98,835,163 on October 27, 2001 (Breeders' Cup Day). There was an additional $4,499, 876 wagered separately for a total record handle of $103,257,457.
