The 5-2 favorite is Grace Hall who is owned by Michael Dubb, Bethlehelm Stables and Elkstone Group and trained by Anthony Dutrow with Javier Castellano getting the ride. She took the Florida path to the Oaks, finishing second in the Davona Dale and winning the Gulfstream Oaks. The co-second choices at 4-1 are On Fire Baby and Broadway's Alibi. On Fire Baby won the Honeybee at Oaklawn last out, while Broadway's Alibi won the Comely at Aqueduct.
Grace Hall, who finished second behind champion My Miss Aurelia in the Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies (G1) at Churchill Downs last November, captured the Gulfstream Park Oaks (G2) by 6 1/2 lengths in her most recent start. Her trainer Tony Dutrow said on Monday, "She's doing good. She went out and jogged with a pony. She leaves Palm Meadows (Tuesday morning) at 4:30." Owned by Michael Dubb, Bethlehem Stables and The Elkstone Group, Grace Hall will accompany Kentucky Derby hopefuls El Padrino, Gemologist and Take Charge Indy on the flight from Florida.
On Fire Baby, winner of the Pocahonas (G2) and Golden Rod (G2) at Churchill Downs last fall, is the half-sister of High Heels, who finished third in the 2007 Kentucky Oaks behind Rags to Riches for owner Anita Cauley, trainer Gary Hartlage and jockey Joe Johnson. Winner of the Honeybee (G3) at Oaklawn Park in her most recent start, On Fire Baby will break from post position one.
E. Paul Robsham Stables' Broadway's Alibi, runaway winner of the Comely (G3) and Forward Gal (GII) this year, is trained by Todd Pletcher, who sent out Ashado (2004) and Rags to Riches (2007) to Oaks victories. John Velazquez, who won the 2004 Oaks on Ashado, has the call on Broadway's Alibi, who will break from post position six.
