Update: Pool 3 is now closed. As expected, juvenile champion Uncle Mo, winner of the Timely Writer last out and who should be the favorite in next Saturday's Wood Memorial, was the 3-1 favorite over Florida Derby winner Dialed In at 5-1, and the mutuel field of all other 3-year-olds at 8-1. San Felipe Stakes winner Premier Pegasus, who will start next in the Santa Anita Derby, is the fourth choice at 9-1. There was a total of $392,910 bet in Pool 3, of which $269,354 was to win and $123,556 was in the exacta.
The 2011 edition of Churchill Downs' Kentucky Derby Future Wager will have its third and final three-day run starting on Friday April 1. This time undefeated 2-year-old champion Uncle Mo has been set as the morning line favorite at odds of 3-1 with Rebel Stakes winner The Factor next at 6-1. The mutuel field of "all other 3-year-olds" is at 10-1 on the morning line.
Once again for this pool, there will be exacta wagering offered on the horses in the Future Wager. The only restriction on the exacta is that the field (#24) can only be used in one position of the exacta, so at least one of the individual horses (#1 through #23) must be used as well.
Wagering on the three-day pool will open at noon (all times EST) on Friday April 1 and close at 6pm on Sunday, April 3. Racetracks and off-track betting centers across North America will offer the wager. Poll 1 was held on February 18-20 and Pool 2 was held on March 11-13 and also included the single Kentucky Oaks Future Wager pool.
