Winning jockey Garrett Gomez said, "He ran a wonderful race today. A mile is right up his alley and he showed it. We were really confident going into the race and the race went absolutely perfectly for him. My idea was to get him relaxed but he was a little keen and he getting there from the off. He gets the mile no problem and stays further and is all heart and when I asked him he gave his all. This victory will hopefully take him to the Breeders' Cup."

Leondro Mora, assistant to winning trainer Doug O'Neill, added, "I am pretty thrilled it has finally happened and we expected him to run well. He likes the warm and over here it is like the Californian summertime which suited him well. He can go 1 1/4 as well as a mile and he's such a cool horse. We will give him a couple of months to build himself up and the boss will decide, but the Hollywood Gold Cup would be the sort of race he could run in next."

Owner J. Paul Reddam added, "That is a good start to what could be a good evening and hopefully year. He is an improving type and will hopefully continue to progress."
