Latency, who will fly the colors of Argentina in the Sheema Classic, went out for a gallop on the main track on Monday. Owner Dardo Fernandez Aramburu said, "He is not only a dirt horse. He is just as efficient on the turf - actually he has won five times on the dirt from seven starts but most of his racing has been on turf. Five of his Group One wins have been on turf and the horses he has beaten have had 45 Group One wins between them, so the surface is not an issue. I still wrestle with myself on whether we should run the horse in the World Cup or in the Sheema Classic on the turf. He is just as good at both and he has won from 1800m to 2400m so it is still an open question but you have to make a choice."
