Daddy Cool (center) wins the Singspiel Stakes on Queen's Plate day

The sixth race on the card was the $100,000 Singspiel Stakes at 1 1/2 miles on the turf. 11-1 shot Daddy Cool stalked the pace in fifth down the backstretch, then surged to the lead at the eighth pole and held off the late run of 8-1 shot Shop Hill to win by a head in 2:27.66.
