The $200,000 Remsen Stakes (G2) featured eight 2-year-old colts going 1 1/8 miles on the main track. Champagne Stakes runner-up Nobiz Like Shobiz was the 1-2 favorite over 7-1 Sightseeing, second in the Nashua last out, and 9-1 allowance winner Zanjero.

12-1 Timber Reserve led the field around the clubhouse turn and down the backstretch through fractions of 23.87, 47.65, and 1:11.96. Nobiz Like Shobiz stalked the pace in third early. Around the far turn, Nobiz Like Shobiz came out wide to pass the tiring pacesetter. Through the stretch, Nobiz Like Shobiz drew away to win by 6 1/2 lengths over late-running Zanjero, completing the trip in 1:48.82. It was 1 3/4 lengths back to 20-1 Kong the King in third, while pacesetter Timber Reserve faded to fourth.
