There are three other Breeders' Cup Challenge "Win and You're In" races on the undercard of the Canadian International at Woodbine. The $1 million E.P. Taylor Stakes (G1) Presented by Emirates Airline featured nine older fillies and mares going 1 1/4 miles on the turf looking to gain entry in the Breeders' Cup Filly and Mare Turf. Godolphin entrant and Prix Jean Romanet winner Folk Opera was the 3-2 favorite over Glens Falls Handicap winner and 7-2 second choice Hostess and Canadian Stakes winner, 4-1 third choice J'ray.

Frankie Dettori immediately sent Folk Opera to the lead and over to the rail to save ground. Green Lyons, Toque de Queda, and Callwood Dancer stayed up close to the pace for the first mile, as Folk Opera clicked off easy fractions of 26.41, 51.55, 1:16.66, and 1:40.80. With 1/4 mile left to run, Dettori asked Folk Opera and she accelerated, quickly opening up a 2 length advantage over Callwood Dancer by the 1/8 pole. Folk Opera, taking full advantage of her slow early pace had plenty left for the stretch, cruising under the line 1 3/4 lengths in front of Callwood Dancer, completing the 1 1/4 mile trip wire-to-wire in 2:03.70 over the firm going. It was just a head back to late-running Sealy Hill third.
