The $250,000 King's Bishop Stakes (G1) is the accompanying Grade 1 feature on Travers day. Nine entered this 7 furlong sprint for 3-year-olds. 3-4 favorite Henny Hughes stalked the early pace of 46-1 longshot Quietly Go through an initial quarter mile in 22.29, then got into his best stride the rest of the way. He took over the lead entering the far turn through a half mile in 44.62, and pulled away through the lane to win going away by 5 1/4 lengths over late-running 24-1 shot Star Dabbler, in a time of 1:21.96. 7-1 Court Folly finished third, 3/4 lengths back of Star Dabbler. 3-1 second choice Songster stalked the pace in third but faded late to finish fifth.
