More Happy wins the 2007 Adirondack Stakes at Saratoga

The 2-year-old fillies competed in Wednesday's $150,000 Adirondack Stakes, also at 6 1/2 furlongs on the main track, with 20,838 fans in attendance. California shipper More Happy was sent off as the 3-2 choice off her debut win at Del Mar last out. Woodbine shipper Sky Mom was the 4-1 second choice, after finishing second in the My Dear Stakes, while Kentucky import A To The Croft the 5-1 third choice, winner of her debut at Churchill Downs.

Because she was still in the hands of the assistant starter at the break, Phantom Income reared at the start, was never in contention, and was declared a non-starter by the stewards. More Happy went right to the front and set a pace of 21.88 and 44.93 while as may as 1 1/2 lengths clear of Sky Mom and Yonagucci. Asked for run by jockey Rafael Bejarano, she pulled away to a 4 1/2 length advantage in mid stretch, but A To The Croft, who was 7th down the backstretch, quickly closed the gap but More Happy held her safe by 3/4 lengths in 1:17.51. It was another 3/4 length to Passion in third.
