Winning jockey Julien Leparoux, celebrating his first Grade 1 win, said, "You
have to have patience with this filly. It's the only way to ride her. She's a
like a machine. She proved it today." Trainer Patrick Biancone, winning his
second consecutive Beverly D. (Angara won in 2005) said, "Today, we saw a new
part of her game - she can go longer than a mile. It was a gamble for us but
had trained really well. We came, we won and we were the best today." Asked
about the young jockey Leparoux, he said, "He's is a very cool guy. He waited
to the last moment and he won the first Grade 1 win of his life. I think he'll
remember that his whole life."
