The $100,000 Teddy Drone Stakes featured a field of 9 older horses sprinting 6 furlongs on the main track. Man of Danger was quickest away and got the initial quarter in 21.87 before 4-1 Fleet Valid took over the lead approaching the far turn through a half in 44.20. He opened up a 2 length advantage in mid stretch through 5/8 in 56.17 and held off the late-running Keep Laughing by 3/4 length for the win in 1:08.77. It was 3 3/4 lengths back to He's So Chic third, while 2-1 favorite Timely Advice was fourth.

Winning trainer Scott Volk said, "He's just a plain, good horse. He was a good horse when he was young, he hit the bottom, and now he's come back. He was a terrific claim."
