Friday's $112,900 Lake George Stakes (G3) saw eight 3-year-old fillies go 1 1/16 miles on the inner turf course. 2-1 favorite Pyramid Love was making her first U.S. start after racing in France, taking on 3-1 second choice Quite a Bride and 7-2 third choice Magnificent Song. Steady rain through the day rendered the course yielding.

5-1 shot Somethinboutbetty was loose on the lead most of the way around the course through a slow pace of 24.27, 49.70, and 1:14.58, while stablemate Quite a Bride sat just off the pace in second for the backstretch trip. Somethinboutbetty was 2 1/2 lengths clear at the 1/8 pole, but Magnificent Song closed well coming out of heavy traffic early in the lane to get up for the 3/4 length win in 1:45.88. Quite a Bride was third while favorite Pyramid Love failed to rally and was sixth.

Winning jockey Garrett Gomez said, "I had a great trip. I slid up the fence and actually hit my heels on the hedge a few times. In the past, she was real timid, but Todd (Pletcher, trainer) has done a great job in getting her to relax. I thought the give in the ground would move her up a bit, and it definitely did."
