Only 5 horses went to the gate in this 7-furlong sprint over the rain-soaked turf course. 9-2 fourth choice Millfleet set a strong uncontested pace of 25.04 and 49.93 down the backstretch, then found another gear through the lane to pull away to a 2 1/2-length advantage with a furlong to go. Millfleet easily held off 4-1 Raw Power late to win by 1 1/2 lengths in 1:25.89 for the 7-furlong trip. Even-money favorite Sophia's Prince tried to close from the rear of the field early but flattened out in the end, finishing fourth.
