11-1 shot Awesome Twist, coming off a 6 month layoff, was outrun early, came wide into the stretch and finished up well to get second money. He improved his career record to 5 wins, 3 seconds, and 1 third in 16 starts with earnings of $288,707 for co-owner and trainer John Kimmel. He is still winless in stakes company and has not won since an optional claimer at Saratoga last July.
